How to Register
Fill out the Student Enrollment Application and complete the $100 application fee payment. Once your registration is confirmed, you can begin the program below.
Medical Aesthetician Program
The Urban Body Laser Academy Program offers opportunities to learn in many areas of laser technician training in order to become a Medical Aesthetician. Students will study Laser Hair Removal, Photorejuvenation, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning, Hydrafacials, Microneedling, Consultation, Advanced Sales, How to Prepare for a Job, Personal Health, Skin Overview, Wound Care & Laser Safety.
The goal with how our program is laid out is to give you hands-on training practical training in a clinical setting. In-class time focuses on learning how to provide treatments, complete skin assessments and consultations. The online portion helps you learn all the theory with the flexibility of your schedule.
Once the program is completed you should be fully comfortable in performing all treatments and consultations just as you would be during your first job.

Personalized Mentor Add-On Course
We offer an additional in-person personalized intensive mentorship program with our Medical Aesthetician program. This mentorship is not necessary to meet the learning objectives of the core program but can provide one on one coaching for whatever the student needs extra help with. It could be more hands-on Laser Hair Removal, or to freshen up on some sales. It could be a month or two into a new job and the student needs help or a refresher on specific treatments. Perhaps the student needs direction on how to dial themselves into a successful job interview. Whatever the students’ specific needs are that are relatable to any part of the entire program – they will get. It is 68 hours that can be used however needed in the six month period after graduation.

Laser Hair Removal
Students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of how to perform laser hair removal. This will include understanding the Fitzpatrick scale, reading hair color and hair type and know how to properly treat clients with the system best suited for them. Understanding when it is safe/not safe to treat someone effectively. Knowing skin conditions and how to assess and treat complications that arise from these treatments. It will include how to set protocols on the systems that are being used for hair removal. They will also have an understanding on what it takes to sell. It’s an emotional connection between two people that creates trust and influences them to buy. They will also understand human connection and what it takes to give a client a transformational experience through treatment and customer service.
All the practical is be a 100% complete one on one intensive mentorship with no other students present.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation procedure which requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz). Students will learn how to perform a skin analysis on each client, learn how to safely remove the layer of dead skin, vellus hair and any impurities on the surface of the skin, how to assess client’s skin and know if this is the right treatment for them. Students will also learn the do’s and don’ts of dermaplaning so your treatments will be completed flawlessly.
Hydrarejuvenation
HydraFacial treatments use water and serums to exfoliate, extract and hydrate skin. Students will learn how to complete Hydrafacials with the Hydrafacial MD system. HydraFacial MD uses a unique, patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system to exfoliate, extract and hydrate skin, and, the spiral design delivers painless extractions. Students will learn how to perform a skin analysis on each client, ensure this is the correct treatment, and receive instruction on treatment and how to make appropriate recommendations on home care based on each client’s specific needs.
Microdermabrasion
Students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of how to perform Microdermabrasion treatments, including understanding the correct tips best suited for each individual and recommending appropriate products. The module will include information on understanding when it is safe/not safe to treat someone effectively, knowing skin conditions and how to assess and treat complications that arise from these treatments, as well as how to use a Microdermabrasion system effectively. Students will also have an understanding of the emotional connection between two people that creates trust and influences an individual to buy. Students will understand human connection and what it takes to give a client a transformational experience through treatment and customer service.
Microneedling
Students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of how to perform Microneedling treatments. This will include understanding the correct depth of needles best suited for them and recommending appropriate products to treat the needs of each individual. Understanding when it is safe/not safe to treat someone effectively. Knowing skin conditions and how to assess and treat complications that arise from these treatments. It will include how to do Microneedling safely and effectively. They will also have an understanding on what it takes to sell. It’s an emotional connection between two people that creates trust and influences them to buy. They will have a complete and full understanding of how to do this. They will also understand human connection and what it takes to give a client a transformational experience through treatment and customer service.
Photorejuvenation
At the end of this program student will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of how to perform Photorejuvenation treatments. This will include understanding the Fitzpatrick scale, knowing how to properly treat clients with the system best suited for them and recommending appropriate products to treat the needs of each individual. Understanding when it is safe/not safe to treat someone effectively. Knowing skin conditions and how to assess and treat complications that arise from these treatments. It will include how to set protocols on the systems that are being used for Photorejuvenation. They will also have an understanding on what it takes to sell. It’s an emotional connection between two people that creates trust and influences them to buy. They will also understand human connection and what it takes to give a client a transformational experience through treatment and customer service.
All Things Skin
All Things Skin is everything you need to know about the skin to become a Medical Aesthetician. It covers the anatomy of the skin, physiology of the skin, skin pathologies to treat and to be aware of that cannot be treated, skin types and skin conditions.
Consultations, Advanced Sales and How To Prepare for a Job
Advanced consultations and sales are an important part of the overall Medical Aesthetician program. This is valuable for anyone in the industry who is looking to sharpen their sales and have a better understanding of the consultation process.
Students will have an understanding of what it takes to sell. It’s an emotional connection between two people that creates trust and influences them to buy. Emotional part of the human brain is what triggers people to buy and the reasoning part of the brain is where the sale is justified. They will have a complete and full understanding of how to do this. They will also understand human connection and what it takes to give a client a transformational experience through treatment and customer service. They will have confidence in applying for a job, knowing exactly what to say and do and how to connect to the potential employer. What it takes to have a successful job interview and how to complete a résumé that will give them confidence while applying for these jobs.
Infectious Controls and Principles
At the end of this module the students will have a clear understanding of what it means to keep their working environment clean and safe while treating their clients. They will learn all the different steps to sanitize properly and will also learn the different kinds of bacteria that can form if their rooms/systems are not properly disinfected. Lastly, they will learn all of the best cleaning products and methods to keep things properly sanitized.
Laser Safety
Students will have a clear understanding of the dangers of laser systems and how to best protect themselves and their clients from injury. Safety is a big part of the Medical Aesthetician program.
Personal Health
This module provides knowledge for how to have success in Personal Health. Students learn some of the basic fundamentals on why exercise is important to stay healthy. They will learn the difference between correct and incorrect ergonomics so they can avoid any injuries while performing their job. They will also learn how to eat healthy, why hydration is so important and tools to be able to learn how to meditate for a sound mind and body.
